God Wants To Use You

It’s really simple. God wants to use you. I think that we often get confused and see God as a tool that we use to help us when we can’t help ourselves. But God is the Almighty!  He is sovereign over all. We are tools in His hands, not the other way around!

As we humbly empty ourselves before him, God wants to fill us with His amazing strength and guide us into greater purposes than we could ever imagine. The purposes in His plan are for His glory, not ours.

Paul was imprisoned when he wrote the letter of 2 Timothy. Included in that letter are inspiring words that may have been written near the end of his life. He clearly saw how the Lord had used him since his conversion. Even though jailed simply for his proclamation that Jesus is Lord, God still used him behind prison walls. His words, inspired of God, still inspire us today. And Paul gives credit where credit is due. Here is what he said:

“But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.” – 2 Timothy 4:17

Time and time again, both in the Bible stories and yet today, God uses each one of us to accomplish His will.  From the mighty to the mundane, God has accomplished much through those who yield to His guiding hand. I like what Francis of Assisi once said:

“I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, he can work through anyone.”

So, know this today:  It’s not about your ability. It’s about your availability. The Lord God Almighty WILL use you to accomplish His will. The Lord WILL stand by your side. God WILL give you strength for what is before you.  God uses ordinary people to carry out his extraordinary plan. Offer him your life today. Be like Isaiah of old who said:  “Here am I. Send me.”
