Confidence Through Christ – Be Bold!

September Start Up Sunday was by far the most memorable and inspirational day of worship and praise that we have ever experienced at Lanier Christian Church! What a fantastic day! Over 305 people worshiped in our three services to celebrate and be challenged to "BE BOLD!"

Twelve speakers expressed in heart-felt words what it means to be bold in Christ! The music at all three services was joyful and inspiring. The t-shirts, emblazoned with our theme, were eagerly received and worn by all in attendance. The groundbreaking for our new educational building was a most memorable event, including powerful prayers from all ages of our boys and girls and moving prayers from our men and women who represented different ministries of the church. Our church elders have been remarkable in their faith and prayers and commitment to the growth of the church. The ceremony concluded with 97-year-old Lil Heald closing out the day with her praise to the Lord for what Lanier Christian Church and being bold meant to her! We then wrapped up the day with the singing of "Amazing Grace" as the congregation spread out to form the outline of the new building. Praise the Lord! What a powerful day it was!

As we were reminded in numerous ways on Sunday, it's time to BE BOLD! (2 Corinthians 3:12) That means we must resist being timid in our Christian walk.

How could we possibly be timid when we have a savior who has rescued us from the grips of the evil one?

How could we possibly be timid when we have a savior who has conquered death and given us the hope of heaven?

How could we possibly be timid when we have a savior who has promised to be a strengthening presence no matter what valley we may go through?

How could we possibly be timid when we have a savior who has promised to end all pain and suffering and grief and death?

We must be BOLD!  Enough of being timid in our faith, in our prayers, in our witness and in our service.

In this same chapter of 2 Corinthians 3:4, Paul said:  “Such confidence we have through Christ before God.”

This boldness – this confidence – comes from Christ.  HE is the hope of glory.  It’s not about what YOU can or can’t do.  It’s about what HE has done and will do!

So today, quit holding back.  BE BOLD because of Christ!  We have the greatest hope in the world!  We must boldly reflect that in our prayers, in our faith, in our witness and in our service. So, let's accept the challenge and "Be Bold Y'all!"

Agape,

David
