We have had a piano in our home for many years. It belonged to Faith’s dad, Cyrus Mims, a talented pianist and organist. For decades, Cy played the piano and organ for Harleyville Christian Church during worship each Sunday. In addition, he used his musical talents to play for state functions in South Carolina involving the Eastern Star, Shriners, Masons, Ruritan, Church Camps, and the occasional wedding or funeral. Music filled the Mims home quite often. Either Cy was playing his piano or organ or Faith was playing her guitar.
When Cy passed away in 1984, the piano sat quietly in the living room at the Mims home. For years, the piano remained silent.
